5/12 – Trinity River Wind Festival 2012

My graffiti crew IC has been working this past weekend and over the next few days for this coming Saturday’s big City of Dallas event.

This is just the start but I wanted to share with you all. I’m working on the background on ABIS’ section and will be featured on parts of the others.

Then on Saturday 5/12 from Noon to 6pm we will be painting our pieces (lettering) live during the Wind Festival. I also found out that Mark Cuban paid for our paint too. Very exciting event. You all should come out!

Carlos “DJ Primo” Avila was my Brother-In-Christ and a fellow member of TableTurners. I had met Dj Primo in person at SXSW 2012 after talking to him weekly for over a year as members of TableTurners online.

After struggling with severe depression privately with his family, close friends, and mentors like Tre-9, Dj Primo took his own life yesterday (4/3/12). This Mexican-born US Army Reserve veteran, who served the United States in tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and just last year in Kuwait. leaves behind a wife and two young children.

The unique style of slowing the music down was made popular by Houston’s DJ Screw and Primo will be remembered for bringing the “Screwed” movement to the Christian hip hop scene. Dj Primo was known as the “King of Christian chopped and screwed” music.

He hosted a mix show with Holy Culture Radio, and founded FreeChristianMixtapes.com for his work and that of others. He also worked with Hip Hop Hope Tuesdays weekly in Houston, Tx with Tre-9.

He had another amazing talent with music video djing and video editing. Primo was sick with it. I told him once that it was some next level stuff that will blow people away. His YouTube page is http://www.youtube.com/djprimo713
